ASSISTANT COOK
Qualifications Required: Minimum two years experience in food preparation and cooking. Must have the ability to work independently and under time-constraint pressures. Must hold a valid Food Protection Certificate and New York State Food Handlers Certificate—the ability to stand long hours and lift heavy objects. Read, write, and speak English.
Description: Assist Cook with preparing breakfast and lunch at a older adult center; menu development; ordering and maintaining inventory for food and supplies; compliance with standards and procedures of oversight authorities.
Salary level: $21 per hour
CUSTODIAN
Qualifications Required: Experience in maintenance. Must have the ability to work independently. Ability to stand long hours and able to lift heavy objects.
Description: Under the supervision of the Director and Assistant Director, is responsible for maintaining Senior center’s cleanliness and maintenance of offices, store rooms, lobbies, toilets, hallways, kitchen and kitchen equipment, dining rooms, and garbage disposal areas.
Salary level: $16.50/hour
POT WASHER
Qualifications Required: High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred. Prior related food or dietary experience preferred—the ability to stand long hours and lift heavy objects.
Description: Provides clean and sanitized cookware for all food prepared in the kitchen. Collects all pots, pans, sheet pans, and utensils from production areas.
Salary level: $19/hour
